Physical and Health Education Teacher

About the role
As a Physical & Health Education Teacher, you’ll teach in a truly personalized way—one student or small group at a time—adapting lessons and assessments to meet each learner’s needs. You’ll mentor students, support their social-emotional growth, and build strong partnerships with parents. Collaboration with colleagues, maintaining accurate student records, and investing in your own professional development are key parts of the role.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physical & Health Education in a 1-to-1 or small-group setting, adapting lessons to individual student needs.
- Mentor students and support their social-emotional development.
- Build consistent partnerships with parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to campus culture.
- Maintain accurate and organized student records.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, reflection, and feedback.
- Teach a wide variety of PE & health courses (athletic sports, dance, board sports, personal fitness, group classes, health) following content standards—curriculum and resources provided.
- Teach Yoga (preferred).
Requirements
- Previous education or experience must include one or a combination of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education.
- Minimum of 20 college credits in Kinesiology, Anatomy, Physiology, and/or Physical Education.
- Expertise in the relevant subject area.
- Enrollment in or completion of a Personal Trainer certification program.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.
- Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.
- Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
- Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Growth mindset with flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed.

Pay
USD $28.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
