About the role

Coaches commit to weekly practices where they lead Beer Leaguers through a series of drills and skill development exercises. Beer League Hockey Practice provides guidelines and resources, and coaches are given freedom to build and develop their own programs based on their experience, feedback from skaters, and feedback from the organization.

Coaches should be prepared to teach a variety of skill levels to adults of different ages and hockey backgrounds. Patience, a positive attitude, good energy, and the ability to provide direct feedback—both individually and to the group—are important assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly hockey practices for adult Beer League players
• Design and implement drills and skill development exercises
• Adapt coaching approach based on player feedback and organizational input
• Teach players of varying skill levels and hockey backgrounds
• Provide direct feedback to individuals and address the group as a whole

Requirements

• Patience and a positive attitude
• Good energy and enthusiasm for coaching adult hockey players
• Ability to provide constructive feedback
• Experience coaching or playing hockey (preferred but not mandatory)
