Responsibilities
- Facilitates the direction, coordination, and prioritization of patient flow and customer support at contracted Extended Care Facilities ECF’s and other non-LGH facilities.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to foster a cooperative patient service environment.
- Performs phlebotomy and EKG Holter monitoring during daily rounds at client locations.
- Responds to on-call needs and provides appropriate education based on customer encounters.
- Participates in performance improvement activities related to patient care, customer satisfaction, and registration requirements.
- Contributes to the clinical environment by addressing immediate issues and concerns.
- Provides emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
- Serves as a patient advocate by establishing rapport and resolving service problems.
- Maintains customer accounts by recording and updating account information accurately.
- Processes customer adjustments when necessary.
- Documents services by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Collects patient payments according to departmental guidelines.
- Maintains data entry requirements by following established techniques and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license due to regional travel.
- Reliable motor vehicle for regional travel.
- Two years of experience using professional skills of interpersonal relationships.
- Two years of computer experience.
- Three years of experience in a customer service role with strong communication skills.
- Two years of medical terminology experience.
- Two years of experience with business telephone communications.
- Two years of clinical experience.
- Licensure as a Phlebotomy Technician, PBT (ASCP).
