Phlebotomy Technician I or II 2nd Shift 100% (Downtown Campus)

About the role

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pathology seeks to hire Phlebotomy Technician II (Pay Grade 6) or Phlebotomy Technician I (Pay Grade 4) positions to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, a variety of laboratory tasks, and related duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy draws
• Orders, receives, and distributes supplies
• Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries
• Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Previous public contact/customer service experience
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience (for Phlebotomy Technician I)
• Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by ACA, AMT, ASCP, NCA, NCCT, or NHA (for Phlebotomy Technician II)
• Six months full-time experience performing phlebotomy work, or completion of a Phlebotomy training program (for Phlebotomy Technician II)

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
• Previous patient contact experience
