Phlebotomy Technician I - 2nd Shift 100% - Downtown Campus

About the role

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pathology seeks to hire Phlebotomy Technicians II or I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and various laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy draws
• Orders, receives, and distributes supplies
• Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries
• Represents assigned and related work areas

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Previous public contact/customer service experience desirable
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience (for Phlebotomy Technician I)
• Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by ACA, AMT, ASCP, NCA, NCCT, or NHA (for Phlebotomy Technician II)
• Six months full-time experience performing phlebotomy work or completion of a Phlebotomy training program (for Phlebotomy Technician II)

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
• Previous patient contact experience
