About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join our team at West Taft Road in Liverpool, NY. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and serve as the face of the company. You’ll also have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties
• Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers and client sites
• Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
• Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
• Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
• Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs
• Address customer service-related issues promptly and respectfully
• Review daily/weekly schedules with the supervisor and make adjustments as needed
• Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers
• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of experience as a phlebotomist
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record (if applicable)
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of phlebotomy experience
• 1+ years of experience as a people leader

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:30 PM. Additional days and hours may be required.

Pay

$17.75 - $21.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
