Phlebotomy Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of approximately 20-30 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in Redwood City, California area
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
• Maintain monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
• Cook up phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
• Absorb and assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Resolve any patient or client issues
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
• Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License
• Associate or bachelor’s or master's degree (preferred)
• 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment (preferred)
• 2 or more years' assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric) (preferred)
• 3 or more years' phlebotomy managerial or supervisory or team leader experience (preferred)

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Be at least 21 years old
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record

Pay Range

$75,000 - $94,474 annually
