About the role
The PRN Phlebotomist at Valor Healthcare's Durango clinic provides assistance in patient care, operates diagnostic equipment, submits results, schedules appointments, and collaborates with the PACT Team.
Responsibilities
- Assists with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests.
- Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments.
- Schedules clinic appointments and performs Save and Recapture duties.
- Verifies clinical reminders at the time of each patient visit.
- Complies with VA and company training requirements.
- Collaborates with non-VA providers and facilities.
- Provides patient and family health education.
- Maintains confidentiality of veterans’ data and information.
- Fulfills compliance requirements.
- Supports patient enrollment and retention.
- Embraces and supports new initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate from an accredited program approved by the state. Certified and experienced in phlebotomy preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience as an MA in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred.
- Must be in good standing with the VA. Credentialing may be required based on individual VA contract.
- Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
- Energetic and optimistic demeanor, with exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Pay
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
