Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood specimen collection as directed by supervisor
• Conduct bedside test analysis and collect non-blood specimens as instructed
• Maintain instrument quality control and preventative maintenance
• Attend continuing education programs and distribute specimen collection supplies
• Communicate patient concerns to supervisors and ensure timely completion of labs
• Maintain lab records and document all invasive procedures and patient refusals in medical records
• Comply with all standard safety policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Provide developmentally appropriate care and treatment for the current patient population
• Work as scheduled, including holidays as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Documented successful completion of a Phlebotomy course
• Prior experience in a correctional setting preferred
• Requires unrestricted current certification or registration in state of practice where such is required
