About the role
Phlebotomists at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital support personalized care by collecting blood samples for laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform order entry and obtain pertinent patient information
- Determine specimen collection requirements
- Confirm patient ID, collect specimens in proper tubes using venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately label specimens
- Handle specimens appropriately to maintain sample integrity
- Handle receptionist and clerical duties
- Communicate effectively, provide excellent customer service, and build strong teams
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Experience in phlebotomy or completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Program with successful completion of experience practicum (desirable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Experience with venous and capillary collection for all age groups
- PBT (ASCP) or equivalent National phlebotomy certification (preferred)
