Phlebotomist - Per Diem

About the role

Performs phlebotomy following established safety protocols and hospital procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receives and accurately enters specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Prioritizes and distributes specimens.
• Faxes/distributes results as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of policies to address patient questions and concerns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid phlebotomist certification.
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant credential.
• Less than 1 year of experience in hospital phlebotomy.

Skills

• Strong phlebotomy and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Customer service abilities.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification.
• Preferred: Experience with pediatric, geriatric, oncology, and neonatal patients.
• Preferred: Bilingual skills.
