About the role

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join our team at USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and represent the company. You will also have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Schedule

This is a casual/per diem position with hours as needed. Start and end times vary from Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Handle administrative and clerical duties as needed
  • Travel to additional sites when required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3+ months of phlebotomy experience
  • In lieu of work experience, certification or training must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
