Employment Type Part time Shift Night Shift Description St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team! Schedule: Part Time Every other weekend nights Responsible for the collection of blood samples from inpatients in a timely manner and delivery to the lab for testing. Working with computers and centrifuge as well as instrument lines for processing blood samples. Position requires an experienced, highly-skilled technician who can work with a minimum of supervision. Must be responsible, reliable, dedicated and focused on their duties for prompt and efficient patient care. Properly identifies out patients by verbal confirmation and positive identification system.Properly identifies and labels patients specimens for Blood Bank testing using the positive patient identification system.Properly identifies patients and adequately performs venipunctures and/or skin punctures.Uses appropriate aseptic technique to draw blood culturesClearly and accurately labels all specimens immediately after venipuncture and completes necessary documentationEvaluates specimen adequacy Receives specimens in the computer and delivers them to the appropriate departmentMonitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for re-ordering suppliesDeletes or cancels orders as necessary with full documentation of reason and colleague they spoke with.Collates requests, answers the telephone, delivers specimens to appropriate department and operates the pneumatic tube Always demonstrates proper telephone etiquetteConsistently assumes responsibility for calls, correctly answers questions, directs inquiries and takes messagesAdapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needs Is responsive, courteous, respectful and cooperative in completing tasksCollects TIMED and STAT tests within designated time periodMaintains supplies, carts, workstations in a neat, clean and orderly mannerPerforms other related duties as required Qualifications High School Diploma/Equivalent requiredPhlebotomy Certification or equivalent training What We Offer Medical, Dental, & Vision CoveragePTO TimeTuition AssistanceRetirement Savings ProgramFree ParkingAnd more!
