Job Title: Phlebotomist I - WarrenJob Description The primary role of a Phlebotomist is to assist in various duties, troubleshoot, provide training, and recommend workflow improvements. Responsibilities Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.Decontaminate and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal, as required.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at required temperatures in appropriate containers/tubes.Follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.0-2 years of experience in a related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience drawing from patients aged 0-8 years and older. Work Environment The position is based in Warren, NJ, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The role involves working in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Warren, NJ. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
