Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes.
• Work independently and as part of a team, fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
• Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Use a variety of computer programs and systems throughout the day.
• Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens, answer phones, assist with student and new employee training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in a medical field, preferred.
• Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

• Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency (e.g., ASCP, NHA, ASPT).
• Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency (e.g., AMA).
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
• Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

Health System: The pay range for Phlebotomist I is $20.00- $25.09 per hour. The pay range for Phlebotomist II is $20.00 - $26.79 per hour.

Schedule

Part Time
Hours/Pay Period: 40
Schedule Details: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5PM, 2-3 days per week. This position will cover Barron, Rice Lake and Chetek locations.
Weekend Schedule: 1 in 6 weekends on a rotating basis. 5AM-3PM hours at Barron hospital location.
