Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using various phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes.
• Work independently and as part of a team, fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Use a variety of computer programs and systems throughout the day.
• Accurately identify patients, label, handle, and transport specimens.
• Answer phones and assist with the training of students and new employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved agency.
• Experience working in a medical field is preferred but not required.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Good customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel to other Mayo Clinic Health System locations for assignments as needed.
