Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift

About the role

Pride Health is hiring a Part-Time Phlebotomist to support a healthcare team in South Plainfield, NJ. This is a contract position with possibilities of extension, lasting 01–02 months.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 7:00 am–3:30 pm
• Saturday: 7:30 am–11:30 am

Pay

$20–$22 per hour on a W-2 basis; pay rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and perform blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and sensitivity to patient confidentiality and accuracy of information.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Maintain excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
• Remain flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
