Phlebotomist - Hospital Phlebotomy - Per Diem - Nights
Mercy Medical Center, Life Labs Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our Outpatient Lab - Patient Service Centers team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-energy environment and is passionate about making a real impact in patient care.
About the Role
You will be responsible for obtaining in-house blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.
Responsibilities
- Receives assignments, obtains required supplies, and completes work on time.
- Completes Stat requests within standard turnaround times.
- Responds promptly to beeper and/or overhead paging.
- Verifies that the appropriate specimen has been obtained/received for the test requested.
- Maintains integrity of the specimen.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- Technical training in a Phlebotomy Program; 1 year of experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and phlebotomy skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility for work schedule and patient care requirements.
- Good command of the English language and medical terminology.
- Must be available for EPIC Training on Day shift.
Schedule
- Per Diem, Night Shifts.
- Flexibility to cover evening shifts, if needed.
Pay
Pay Range: $20.30 - $26.10 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
