Phlebotomist/Front Desk
About Us
One Medical is a primary care solution challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible and enjoyable. We’re on a mission to transform healthcare, improving the experience for everyone involved—from patients and providers to employers and health networks. Our seamless in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, on-site labs, and programs for preventive care, chronic care management, common illnesses, and mental health concerns have been delighting people for the past fifteen years. In February 2023, One Medical joined Amazon to deliver exceptional healthcare to more consumers, employers, care team members, and health networks to achieve better health outcomes.
The Opportunity
As a One Medical Phlebotomist/Front Desk (internally known as a Patient Care Specialist), you’ll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey through venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients, removing barriers to care and ensuring a truly exceptional in-office experience. You’ll serve as the first point of contact, steward the office space, and support the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers as needed. You combine excellent specimen collection technique with strong interpersonal skills, thriving in a feedback-driven culture that prioritizes empathy, growth, and innovation.

- Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
- Maintain high standards of care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Support patients beyond the lab by answering messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers with clerical duties (e.g., biometric screening forms, medical record reviews, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting).
- Handle front-of-house duties, including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, paperwork, test prep, and task management.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, huddles, problem-solving, and ad-hoc support for providers.
- Perform opening/closing duties, daily office upkeep, and maintain the look and feel of patient and employee spaces.
- Master technology tools, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and the Electronic Medical Record System.
