About the role

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR III has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment. The role includes performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, verifying patient demographic information, and maintaining required records and documentation.

Responsibilities

Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
