Phlebotomist- Floater

About the role

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. This role involves direct patient contact and may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately, maintains a safe and professional environment, and handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing. Floaters travel between multiple sites and must be punctual at whichever location they are covering for the day.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric collections, following established practices and procedures.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting with minimal on-site supervision.
• Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM (hours vary by site). Rotational Saturdays, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
