About the role
The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR III has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a safe and professional environment, and handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
Key responsibilities include verifying patient demographic information, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence, and maintaining required records and documentation. The role also involves demonstrating organizational commitment and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including pediatric and geriatric collections, with skill and accuracy.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and confidential environment.
- Adhere to established practices and procedures for specimen collection and processing.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Cover multiple locations with minimal notice, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred).
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Travel and flexible hours required to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Schedule
Day shift; Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (EST).
