About the role

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately and maintains a safe, professional environment. The role involves both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, verification of patient demographic information, and maintaining required records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Adhere to all Policies & Procedures, including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
  • Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
