Phlebotomist - Floater
About the role
The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. This role involves direct patient contact, performing both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate. Floaters travel between multiple sites, must be punctual, and can submit mileage between sites.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain a safe, professional environment and perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting with minimal on-site supervision.
- Communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Flexible hours and ability to travel to multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.

Schedule
Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM (Eastern Time). Flexible hours required to cover multiple locations.
