Phlebotomist- Floater
About the role
The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. This role involves direct patient contact, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately, maintains a safe and professional environment, and handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Perform duties with confidence in a high-volume setting, handling multiple priorities.
- Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal on-site supervision.
- Exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.
- Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.

Schedule
Monday–Friday hours range from 6:00 AM–7:00 PM. Saturdays (approximately every 2–3 weeks) from 8:30 AM–12:00 PM (Eastern Time).
