About the role
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist Floater to support our client's healthcare facility in Germantown, MD.
Schedule
- 5 days × 8.0 hours, 40 hours/week
- Location: Germantown, MD 20874
- Contract length: 15 weeks
Pay
- Weekly gross pay: $21/hr to $23.13/hr
- Mileage expenses reimbursed
- Weekly gross pay is based on a taxable hourly wage and daily lodging and meals & incidentals stipends per USA GSA guidelines
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles
- Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures
- Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy
- Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients
- Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols
- Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates
- Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
