About the role
As a Float Phlebotomist, you will travel to various sites, gaining diverse experience while working with different patients, team members, and clinics. This role provides variety, skill development, and opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomists may also be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Additionally, this position includes a float incentive of an extra $1.00/hour plus mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed
- Travel to additional sites when required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of phlebotomy experience (or a Phlebotomy certification/training from an accredited agency in lieu of experience)
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Must pass a standardized color blindness test
- Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (subject to applicable law, with accommodations for medical or religious reasons)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of phlebotomy experience
Schedule
Monday – Friday, with scheduled hours varying between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and rotating Saturdays.
