About the role
The Phlebotomist Floater provides high-quality blood collection services across multiple healthcare settings, including patient service centers, long-term care, and in-home environments.
Responsibilities
- Draws blood samples accurately, explains procedures to patients, and ensures specimen readiness for lab testing.
- Acts as a mentor, coach, and resource for new staff and supports daily operations, often stepping in for lead phlebotomists.
- Maintains confidentiality, demonstrates process excellence, and collaborates with various departments such as sales, lab, IT, billing, and logistics, especially in high-volume or complex practices.
- Perform blood draws safely and accurately, provide coverage at multiple locations, lead and mentor staff, and handle complex testing and high-volume scenarios.
- Act as a site point of contact.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Strong data entry skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Certified phlebotomists preferred; medical training or certification is advantageous.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
