About the Role
The Phlebotomist Floater provides essential patient care by drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. They serve as the face of the organization, establishing trust through skillful, safe, and accurate procedures while explaining processes to patients.
Responsibilities
- Cover multiple locations and roles, ensuring timely and accurate completion of daily activities in various settings such as clinics, mobile units, or long-term care.
- Lead and mentor onsite staff, act as a resource for training and onboarding, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Handle complex cases requiring advanced phlebotomy skills, demonstrating leadership, process excellence, and confidentiality.
- Engage with high-volume, high-complexity practices, collaborating with departments like Laboratory, IT, Billing, and Sales.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in some states).
- Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience in patient service centers or in-office labs, customer service, and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in a high-volume environment.
- Capable of working across diverse settings and managing multiple priorities effectively.
