Phlebotomist/Donor Collections Technician I - Salisbury & South Mobile Team

Job Summary

The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) is seeking Donor Collection Technicians for their hybrid role combining work in the Salisbury Donor Center and various mobile blood drive locations. This position does not require prior medical experience and provides comprehensive training.

We train individuals who are welcoming and committed to providing excellent customer service to donors. The role involves traveling, meeting new people, and working in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a competitive starting pay rate of $17.75/hr, with additional weekend and mobile drive differentials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor interviews in a confidential professional manner to determine eligibility according to BBD standards.
• Initiate whole blood collection/phlebotomy procedures and monitor the donor's progress according to BBD collection guidelines.
• Prepare for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in accordance with Quality Control standards.
• Exemplify BBD’s Customer Service Mission and Core Values.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.

Benefits

Monthly bonuses based on performance, travel reimbursements for mileage/tolls, and full benefits. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for joining the dynamic team, paid out in three installments over the first year of employment.

Pay

$17.75/hr starting pay rate, with additional differentials for weekends and mobile drives.

Schedule

Shifts include morning, evening, and weekend positions, with schedules released two weeks in advance. A 6-8 week paid training period is provided, including hotel accommodations.
