About the role
Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Phlebotomist - Clinical Lab Assistant to work part time days in Central Testing at Sentara Independence. Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–11:00 AM, rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.
As a Phlebotomist-Clinical Lab Assistant, you will perform patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. You will collect, label, and process patient specimens for testing, handle registration and test data entry, and monitor supply levels.
Sentara Independence provides quality outpatient services to the surrounding community. The facility includes an ambulance-accessible emergency room supported by board-certified physicians, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and highly skilled staff. It is an extension of the quality services at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, offering advanced imaging and physical therapy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Phlebotomy course (preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of experience (preferred)
