Phlebotomist - Clinical Lab Assistant I

Overview

Sentara Health is hiring a Phlebotomist – Clinical Lab Assistant to work full‑time days in Central Testing at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
• Collect, label, and process patient specimens for testing.
• Responsible for registration and test data entry.
• Monitor supply levels.

Education

• High School Graduate or equivalent (required)
• Phlebotomy course (preferred)

Certification / Licensure

• Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• 1 year of experience (preferred)

Schedule

First shift (days), full‑time.

Compensation

Base pay range for full‑time employment is $19.88 – $29.43 hourly. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Pay varies based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
