Phlebotomist

About the role

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory on a Per-Diem basis. The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant is responsible for the collection, preparation, and distribution of clinical specimens. This role involves performing essential laboratory testing, managing specimen records, and providing clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment. This position does travel to our off-site locations and may require the use of your own personal vehicle or the company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Collection, preparation, and distribution of clinical specimens
• Perform essential laboratory testing
• Manage specimen records
• Provide clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the laboratory
• Travel to off-site locations as needed

Requirements

• High School Graduate (required)
• Valid Wisconsin Driver's License (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Reliable transportation and proof of current auto insurance (required)
• Graduate from a Phlebotomy program (preferred)
• One year of related experience in a Laboratory, medical hospital, or nursing home (preferred)

Skills

• Ability to perform phlebotomies
• Basic computer skills including accessing email, internal websites, electronic health records, and online learning tools
• Beginning Microsoft Office Suite skills (open documents, change font, save documents, write letters)

Schedule

• Per-Diem/Occasional
• Variable days
• Shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm as needed to cover open shifts for vacation days and illness
