Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and fluid samples using designated equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Explain procedures to patients and gather relevant health information in a professional manner.
• Accurately record and document patient/resident data, following all safety and asepsis protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and providing guidance on procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program or relevant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Key Duties

• Perform sample collection during rotating shifts, primarily working days on a 7 on/7 off schedule.
• Adhere to safety, asepsis, and standard procedures during specimen collection.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and samples.
