About the role
We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Pembroke, NC, at a Patient Service Center. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and represent the company as a key point of contact. You will also have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Patient Service Technicians (PSTs) may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other tests as required
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification, completed Phlebotomy training program, or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist
- In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency is acceptable
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
