Job Summary
You will play a vital role in determining patient diagnoses and treatment by expertly performing blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Expertly obtain and process blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture, ensuring integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution to testing areas with special instructions.
- Prioritize patient comfort during blood work.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a talent for making patients feel comfortable.
- Adhere to lab collection turnaround times.
- Positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions.
- Practice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions.
- Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations and storage rooms.
Requirements
- Required High School Graduate or GED
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
- PREFERRED: 3 months phlebotomy in an acute care facility
- PREFERRED: Phlebotomy Technician certification
