Phlebotomist

Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Georgetown location with occasional coverage for the Round Rock North and Harker Heights locations. This is a full-time Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes specimens from patients as ordered.
• Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program.
• Identifies and bands patients for blood product transfusion.
• Processes incoming orders for lab testing.
• Updates and files all daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.
• Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.
• Maintains equipment and work area as directed.
• Performs waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines for personnel.
• Maintains a clean working environment and restocks the phlebotomy and laboratory area as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of experience for Level 2.
• Five or more years of experience for Level Sr.
• Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended.
