About the role
Coosa Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is a progressive health care organization that believes in quality patient care and values their team members.
Responsibilities
- Reviews test requisitions
- Collects specimens via venipuncture
- Accurately labels and transports specimens to the laboratory for clinical and biological analysis in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
- Performs laboratory testing and related support duties as required
Schedule
Weekends will alternate with shifts being 9am-5:30pm
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent required
- One year experience required
Skills
- Ability to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level acquired through a high school education
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel
- Knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques
