Philanthropy Officer Sr-Regional

Grade Level 49 | Full-Time | Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with some evening, weekend, and travel required

About the Role

The University of Kentucky Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement is seeking a Director of Regional Philanthropy. This fully remote role focuses on increasing major gifts private support for an assigned region. The incumbent will collaborate with college and unit gift officers to engage in sophisticated philanthropic conversations with major gift donors and prospects. Regular travel within the region for donor visits and occasional travel to campus for team meetings is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors and prospects.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, conducting face-to-face visits annually to advance philanthropic relationships.
• Collaborate with college and unit gift officers to align donor interests with University priorities.
• Engage in progressively more sophisticated philanthropic giving conversations with donors and prospects of greater capacity.
• Participate in special projects to secure private support for University priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of professional fundraising experience.
• Proven record of success in building and sustaining relationships that foster major gift giving.
• Ability to travel throughout the region for donor meetings and occasional campus visits.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to articulate the University’s vision and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing fundraising work planning.
• Experience at a higher education institution, particularly with an understanding of the Land-grant mission.
• Valid driver’s license.

Pay

$73,861–$121,888/year
