About the role
The Philanthropy Associate at Northwestern Memorial Foundation plays a crucial role in the fundraising team, supporting the Individual Giving Program. This position focuses on renewing and lifting donors ($1 - $49,999) through a multi-channel approach and managing a donor portfolio of leadership annual donors ($500-$10,000).
Responsibilities
- Strategize, plan, and execute a robust Leadership Annual Giving program using best practices in direct marketing and personal outreach.
- Renew and lift donors' giving while qualifying donor prospects for mid-level, major, and planned giving programs.
- Lead in the strategic support for the Leadership Annual Giving Program, collaborating with Communications and NMF teams on creative and technical execution of tactics.
- Perform data-driven program evaluations to identify areas of improvement and success.
- Manage routine data audits and necessary clean-up for quality control.
- Administer and coordinate philanthropy projects supporting fundraising programs.
- Develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, vendors, and team members.
- Handle or escalate problems within the project team or with donors, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Create and execute project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Research and develop internal and external communications, including presentations, speaking points, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen leadership capabilities.
- Represent and provide support for NMF at appropriate events related to donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising activities.
- Handle unanticipated complex issues and manage critical and confidential information.
- Use meaningful metrics to assess outcomes and achieve goals.
- Exemplify the NMHC values of patients first, integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a fundraising, community outreach, healthcare, or development position, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Behavioral Attributes: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Raiser’s Edge database; strong organizational and project management skills; excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; professionalism, sensitivity, and integrity.
