PhD Positions in Contaminant Hydrology at Kansas State

About the role
The Volponi Lab is seeking two Ph.D. students interested in studying the fate and transport of contaminants through rivers and soils at Kansas State University. The proposed research will consist of a combination of mathematical modeling, lab experiments, and field experiments. Candidates should be excited to develop a range of skills across these methods. The degree will be awarded through the Civil Engineering department at Kansas State University.
Start dates in either Spring (January) or Fall (August) 2027 are possible, with a January start preferred.
Requirements
- A brief statement of interest (1 page or less) describing your research background, why you are interested in the lab's work, and why you are interested in pursuing a PhD
- A current CV or resume
- An unofficial transcript
- Contact information for two or three professional references
- Indication of whether you are an international student in need of a visa (if a visa is needed, completing paperwork will require starting in the Fall)
