Graduate Hydrogeologist

About the role

GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Hydrogeologist in Phoenix, AZ. You’ll provide specialized geological insight on challenging projects, focusing on subsurface hydrogeological conditions, regulatory requirements, and fundamentals of geology. This role involves collecting, organizing, and documenting geological and geophysical information to support models, assessments, and client delivery needs. You’ll learn GHD’s tools, workflows, and safe field practices while progressively taking on more complex tasks to broaden your geoscience knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to geoscientific studies and interpretations by analyzing and interpreting geological, geophysical, and hydrological field data for water resources proposals and investigations.
• Participate in field work and travel, including overnight stays for projects lasting from one day to several weeks, sometimes at remote locations.
• Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats, working independently as needed.
• Collect samples within project sites, including coordination with subcontractors, and conduct testing in compliance with statutory frameworks and best practices.
• Assist in designing exploration programs, including risk assessment and budgeting.
• Contribute to the preparation of data and analytics reports.
• Gather information and draft standard requests for bid solicitation, proposals (RFP), and tenders (RFT).
• Support senior colleagues in managing client and customer relationships using relevant sales or client systems.
• Participate in a community of practice to build expertise in a defined area of consulting.
• Follow and promote the organization’s health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, including identifying and mitigating risks, instructing teams in safe working methods, and escalating serious issues.
• Coordinate complex mineral assessment operations, focusing on the quantity and quality of deposits.
• Develop personal capabilities through assessment and development planning, formal and informal training, and maintaining external professional accreditation where relevant.
• Work within established project management plans to achieve specific goals.
• Design and execute increasingly complex simulations or models to ensure accurate and relevant output.
• Interpret data to identify possible solutions, navigating a variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrology, Geology, Geoscience, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field.

Schedule

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring in-office collaboration three days a week.
