Pharmacy Technician (Tech II), PT Rotating Shifts, Pharmacy

About the role

White Oak Medical Center's Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Tech II in Silver Spring, MD. We're seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality control
• Perform sterile compounding according to USP 797 and 800 including electronic documentation
• Maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts; perform patient care unit inspections with electronic documentation
• Prepare and deliver medication to patient care units; restock automated dispensing units
• Assess need for and prepare prepackaged oral solid and liquid medications for dispensing
• Perform Medication History assessments

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required
• Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
• At least 2 years work experience in a pharmacy specifically using aseptic technique compliant with USP 797 and 800; working knowledge of USP 795 required
• Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred
• Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred

Pay

$21.02 - $28.03 per hour

Schedule

Part-time, 20 hours/week. Typical daily schedule: 8 hour shifts - Two times a week- then Three times next week 6:00am- 2:30p, 7:30am-4:30pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 10:30am-7:00pm, 130pm-10:00pm Shift Type: Rotating Day, Evening, Nights and Weekends. Weekend Requirements: Required every other weekend rotation
