About the role

This position works Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 8 pm. No holidays or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, technician trainees, and supportive personnel.
  • Support pharmacy leadership in directing technical and operational functions of the pharmacy.
  • Provide leadership, education, training, and guidance for pharmacy caregivers and supportive personnel.
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluation, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
  • Prepare schedules and organize technician coverage to ensure departmental needs are consistently met.
  • Ensure excellence in the technical aspects of pharmacy practice.
  • Support Pharmacy Services in all care locations (acute, community, ambulatory, and specialty).

Requirements

  • Directly leads at least 7 pharmacy caregivers.
  • Communicates effectively with caregivers and stakeholders regarding responsibilities and identified concerns.
  • Maintains competence in technical responsibilities assigned and seeks appropriate training and feedback as needed.
  • Understands and complies with all state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to their specific area of practice.
  • Engages in department and team goals, activities, and projects.
  • Ensures appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s).
  • Maintains all appropriate training materials and documentation of skills.
  • Participates in and develops quality, patient safety, and efficiency improvement projects and initiatives engaging staff and leadership as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current pharmacy technician certification or license applicable to state of practice (CPhT through PTCB or EXCPT or other certifying board, and successful registration/certification/licensure with the state of practice as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, not "in-training" or "provisional").
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents (where applicable).
  • 3 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician.
  • Preferred qualifications include 3 years of sterile compounding experience and 2 years of leadership experience.

  • Understands and complies with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to their specific area of practice.
  • Provides delivery of medications, information, and service in a professional, timely manner and is actively engaged in department and team goals, activities, and projects.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $30.36 - $46.22. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Regular attendance to perform work during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. Work may be performed on site or remotely as appropriate to practice site.
