ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise assigned areas of the Pharmacy Department and direct support personnel
- Provide day-to-day support to pharmacy staff members
- Oversee and coordinate staff training and ongoing competency programs
- Routinely work with management and others to improve pharmaceutical services
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new staff members
- Provide continuous feedback on performance and conduct annual performance evaluations
- Develop and implement pharmacy technician workflows
- Aid in the development of pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assume role of pharmacy technician as needed during periods of low staffing/high workloads
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies/expense items needed to perform departmental functions
- Handle call outs and other staffing issues to meet minimum departmental requirements
- Promote cost-effective use of medications and departmental resources
- Assure that assigned areas function within all legal, professional and regulatory standards
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Demonstrates basic working knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice
- Works cooperatively with staff throughout Pharmacy Department and Medical Center
- Works efficiently, independently and safely in a complex and constantly changing environment
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in often difficult and critical circumstances
- Demonstrates advanced problem solving and conflict resolution
- Acts as a role model through dedication to the highest standards of professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must maintain: Pharmacy technician certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program
- Pharmacy technician registration through NYS
- 3 Years’ Experience In Health System Pharmacy Practice Preferred
