Pharmacy Technician - Substitute Instructor

About the role

Pima Medical Institute's San Antonio campus is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Instructor to work on a part‑time, substitute/PRN (as‑needed) basis. In this role you will lead classroom lectures, conduct hands‑on demonstrations, and mentor students through pharmacy law, pharmacology, and sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned curriculum lessons based on the established Pharmacy Technician curriculum.
• Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations focused on real‑world pharmacy methods and techniques.
• Monitor student attendance and report as required.
• Maintain student grades and support academic progress during coverage assignments.
• Ensure a safe and effective learning environment at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program (recognized by USDE or CHEA), OR graduation from a recognized training entity (e.g., hospital‑based program), OR a minimum of four (4) years of job‑related training and experience for those who did not graduate from an accredited program.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in a pharmacy practice setting.
• Licensure: Current license, certification, or designation as required by Texas state law (CPhT).
• Skills: Strong verbal/written communication; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
