Responsibilities
- Supports pharmacy operations in the preparation, compounding, and distribution of medications for patient care.
- Specializes in sterile compounding, hazardous drug handling, and compliance with USP and institutional policies.
- Ensures medication accuracy, safety, and timely delivery while collaborating closely with nurses and pharmacy personnel.
- Provides technical leadership, training, quality assurance support, inventory management, and workflow oversight to maintain optimal pharmacy operations and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- California Pharmacy Technician License
- Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) within 6 months of hire
- Certification by a national pharmacy technician certification board in sterile compounding preparation (CSPT) required within 1 year of hire
- 2 years' pharmacy technician experience with 1 year sterile compounding
Qualifications
- Preferred: CPhT and CSPT certifications
- 5 years' experience preferred
- 2 years compounding experience
