Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and fill IV orders, including mixing IV medications, calculating doses, and applying sterile compounding techniques.
  • Send supplies and equipment to facilities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate IV compounding and mixing records.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance checks on all equipment.
  • Program infusion pumps accurately and safely.
  • Enter data for all applicable IV orders.
  • Order supplies from approved vendors.
  • Complete technician assignments as directed by pharmacy management.
  • Maintain IV pharmacy equipment and supplies in the equipment rental log.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of client services, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow and help enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects focused on operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members in a professional and productive manner while meeting departmental needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current State/National Certified Pharmacy Technician required.
  • Previous IV experience REQUIRED.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, math, and analytical skills.
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred (sterile compounding experience a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

About the Role

IV Pharmacy Technician at SpecialtyRx is responsible for supporting the IV Manager in the daily operations of the Infusion Department. This role includes adhering to company quality and customer service standards, policies and procedures, and complying with all state and federal guidelines. Experience with elastomeric pumps is preferred.

Schedule

Shift(s):

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday + every other weekend.
  • 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday–Friday + every other weekend.
  • 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Monday–Friday + every other weekend.
