Pharmacy Technician Specialist

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. They provide direction and training to other technicians, assist in the supervision of other technicians, perform administrative billing functions, monitor work records, perform technician scheduling, manage inventory, and support the pharmacy team.

• Provide direction and training to other technicians as assigned
• Assists in the supervision of other technicians to ensure policies and procedures and regulatory requirements are uniformly and consistently followed
• Supervises other technicians for administrative billing functions as assigned
• Makes sure all work records needed for the day are monitored at designated times including discontinued, transfers, and discharges
• Performs technician scheduling as assigned
• Manages inventory as the inventory manager/buyer when necessary
• Works with the inventory manager/buyer, IV room, and utilizes EXP reports to reduce expirations and waste in the Automated Dispensing Cabinets
• Supports and follows the directives from the division Pharmacy Team
• Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates data from a variety of sources as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician License
• National Certification (CPhT) required
• Three (3) years experience required
