Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician works under the Pharmacist's license, assisting in the practice of pharmacy by performing routine functions such as receiving prescriptions from patients and physicians, preparing prescriptions according to Nevada Board of Pharmacy regulations, maintaining patient profiles, and preparing insurance claim forms.

Responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions from patients and physicians
• Prepare prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing
• Maintain patient profiles
• Prepare insurance claim forms
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Graduated from Pharmacy Tech School or completed the Pharmacy Tech in training certificate through the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy
• Registered with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy
• Maintains required in-service training as required by the Nevada Board of Pharmacy
• Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards
• Knowledge of State of Nevada pharmacy laws and regulations
• Computer skills and typing skills
• Ability to learn pharmacy software systems
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology and drug names
• Knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA laws
• Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment
